The ECOFFEE European project will showcase its innovation at Spain's premier science and innovation event, Transfiere 2026, taking place in Malaga. On February 25 at 4:55 PM, the consortium will participate in the Green Tech Elevator Pitch session, with Juanma Revuelta (CEO of Finnova) presenting the initiative.

The project addresses spent coffee grounds (SCG) waste through an industrial symbiosis model. The collaborative effort combines expertise: Euskovazza manages reverse logistics for waste collection; AZTI leads scientific development of animal feed ingredients that reduce livestock methane emissions; FumiHogar applies dry micro-dispersion technology to extract caffeine and flavonoids for creating natural biocides for agricultural and environmental health; and Finnova manages market transfer and impact measurement.

The technology has demonstrated technical viability with over €250,000 in EU co-funding. The presentation will outline scalability pathways for replication across Europe, highlighting cascade funding opportunities including the LIFE Programme.

Attendees can visit Stand A3 following the pitch for detailed discussions about future collaborations. The project is coordinated by AZTI-Tecnalia in Spain and receives funding through the Horizon Europe CIRCULOOS programme (Grant Agreement 101092295).
