The activity is implemented as part of the project’s dissemination and awareness-raising actions at regional level in Spain
Valencia, Spain | 22nd January 2026. The ECOFFEE project will organise the hybrid workshop “Circular economy applied to coffee waste recycling” on Monday, 2 February 2026, from 12:00 to 13:00, at Sabadell HUB Empresa (Valencia), with both on-site and online participation, as part of a European-level event taking place in the Valencian Community.
This activity represents the regional action in Spain within ECOFFEE’s dissemination and awareness-raising activities, aiming to increase project visibility, transfer knowledge and raise awareness among public and private stakeholders about the potential of coffee waste within circular economy models. The action is coordinated by Fundación Finnova, through its office in Valencia.
Dissemination, knowledge transfer and cooperation
The hybrid ECOFFEE workshop, organised by Fundación Finnova with the support of the project partners, will provide a practical exchange space addressed to public authorities, companies, entrepreneurs and EU project managers, with a particular focus on the regional innovation ecosystem of the Valencian Community.
The session will address:
- The role of coffee waste as a strategic resource in circular economy.
- Technical challenges and opportunities for valorisation and upscaling.
- EU funding opportunities related to sustainability and circular economy projects.
- Presentation of best practices and successful experiences in environmental innovation and international cooperation.
The workshop will include ECOFFEE audiovisual materials and both on-site and online participation of partners, reinforcing its transnational and collaborative dimension.
European event with territorial impact
The activity is part of the event “Tradition, Innovation and Future”, organised within the framework of the Traditions2EU project, co-funded by the European Union under the CERV Programme, taking place on 2–3 February 2026 in the province of Valencia.

About ECOFFEE
ECOFFEE is a Horizon Europe-funded innovation project, supported by CIRCULOOS, with a 12-month duration and a total budget of €256,451.25.
The project aims to transform coffee grounds into high-value bio-based products through circular economy principles, reverse logistics, digital traceability and environmental validation.
The consortium brings together AZTI, Euskovazza, FumiHogar and Fundación Finnova, combining scientific, industrial and communication expertise to support Europe’s transition towards a circular bioeconomy.
