The new communication tool presents ECOFFEE’s mission, impact and consortium, making circular bioeconomy solutions accessible to a wider audience
Brussels, 9 January 2026 — The European innovation project ECOFFEE begins 2026 by unveiling its new official project flyer, now available on the project’s website. The release coincides with the start of the new year and reflects ECOFFEE’s commitment to raising awareness about circular economy solutions based on coffee waste valorisation.
The flyer has been designed as a clear, visual and engaging communication tool, aimed at explaining how spent coffee grounds — one of the most widespread residues in Europe — can be transformed into high-value bio-based products, including animal feed ingredients and bio-based biocides.
Beyond presenting the project’s technological approach, the flyer places strong emphasis on sensitisation and citizen engagement, illustrating the role of circular economy in reducing waste, lowering emissions and creating sustainable value chains. It also showcases ECOFFEE’s alignment with the European Green Deal, the EU Circular Economy Action Plan, and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 9, 12 and 13.
ECOFFEE is an innovation project selected under CIRCULOOS – Horizon Europe, with a duration of 12 months and a total budget of €256,451.25. The project brings together a multidisciplinary consortium composed of AZTI, Euskovazza, Fumihogar and the Finnova Foundation, combining scientific research, industrial expertise, digital traceability and communication to demonstrate a replicable and scalable circular model for the coffee sector in Europe.
The new flyer will be used across events, awareness campaigns, educational actions and digital channels, including QR-based dissemination, to help bring ECOFFEE’s message closer to citizens, businesses and policymakers.
